In-person workshop at Zenshuji!

Learn the Okinawan tradition of Bokashi composting – an anaerobic process that uses a special additive to ferment kitchen waste, including meat and dairy, into a healthy soil and nutrient-rich fertilizer for your plants. It's easy, quick, and doesn't smell! This method uses a mix of microorganisms that combats food rotting bacteria (and rotting odors), increases the speed of decomposition and enhances plant growth.

WORKSHOP PRICES:

-Workshop is free! Donations to Zenshuji are welcome!
-Supplies to make 1 bag of bokashi: $5
-Bokashi collection set (two buckets and screw top lid): $25
-Sliding scale for low-income individuals!
-We will be accepting cash or venmo only

Masks required. Please stay home if you are feeling unwell. Workshop will be outdoors under canopies.

Facilitated by Amy Honjiyo
