Akari 灯り, meaning light, is a chouchin installation of shodō artwork created by students participating in Shodō for Little Tokyo, our Japanese calligraphy program for local seniors. Through the kanji on each lantern, students invite the public to bask in the warmth of summer and celebrate our beloved obon season. Stroll by JACCC Plaza, especially during the evening, to enjoy this display of lights at the Aratani Theatre.

JACCC書道生徒による提灯展示

場所：JACCC日米文化会館　244 South San Pedro St., LA 90012

「Akari 灯り」は、地元高齢者のためのJACCCリトル東京書道教室の生徒が参加する提灯の書道アート展です。
生徒たちは、それぞれ提灯の光で浮き上がるに漢字を通して夏の季節を感じ取り、お盆の時期に愛する人に想いを馳せる時間に皆さんをお誘いします。
ぜひJACCCノグチ・プラザを散策してみてください。特に夕方に日が落ちてからアラタニ・シアターの提灯の展示をお楽しみください
